As volunteer police officers, our Special Constables have full police powers, uniforms and equipment and work alongside police officers and PCSOs to help protect and serve the people of Kent.

These volunteer officers are a valuable resource, which supports regular officers in delivering high visibility and community policing and dealing with public order.

If you have the drive to serve your community, find out more about the role of a Special Constable. Kent Police is committed to recruiting a workforce that is representative of the community we serve and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.

 

Recruitment is open

Kent Police is currently recruiting for Special Constables to join the force.

We want to hear from you if you:

  • are 18 years old or older
  • meet the required medical and fitness standards
  • are willing to give a minimum of 16 hours per month
  • can commit to the training requirements.
