Who can volunteer?

As long as you are 16 years or older, you can put yourself forward to become a volunteer with Kent Police whatever your ability, skills and experience.

Volunteering opportunities

Once volunteers are trained and familiar with Kent Police policies and procedures, they have opportunities to get involved in a range of activities such as:

• helping on the front desk in police stations
• supporting investigating officers 
• participating in community safety and crime reduction initiatives
• acting as mystery shoppers
• recording and storing lost and found property
• helping with CCTV monitoring
• general maintenance, including vehicle fleet care. 

Why volunteer?

By volunteering with the police, you get to use your skills, experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to help reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in communities across Kent.

By working alongside a range of police professionals you can also help reduce the fear of crime.

When can I volunteer?

Kent Police has dedicated volunteers who perform a variety of tasks at a time which suits their personal and work commitments.

To help manage workloads and enhance stability, placements are usually for a minimum of one year.

All volunteers must undergo a vetting process after which, if you are successful, you will receive in house training where necessary.
