New head for Medway neighbourhood team

Chief Inspector Mark Arnold takes over responsibility for neighbourhood policing

Chief Inspector Mark Arnold

Chief Inspector Mark Arnold has taken over responsibility for leading neighbourhood policing in Medway.

He has already been working in Medway as chief inspector of operations, but has now made the switch to neighbourhood.  As a result, he will be responsible for the local inspectors, sergeants, police constables and police community support officers (PCSOs), who you see in Medway on a regular basis.

He will also be responsible for the two neighbourhood task teams, who are able to target specific areas that are of a concern to residents.

Dealing with your concerns

Chief Inspector Arnold said:  'Our neighbourhood teams play a vital role in ensuring that issues of criminal damage, anti-social behaviour and other crime is dealt with effectively. We work closely with Medway Council as part of the Medway Community Safety Partnership to listen to concerns and take positive action.

'During the next year, we will be putting extra resources into policing Medway and are engaging with the public more than ever before. We want to encourage the public to give us feedback on how we can improve the service we provide to them and increase their confidence in the work Kent Police and Medway Council are doing to combat these issues.

'I’m looking forward to taking neighbourhood policing in Medway forward and working with our local communities.'
