(updated 10 December 2009)

Neighbourhood officers will continue with patrols to identify and deter offenders. The parish council will be appealing in the village newsletter for members of the community to pick up the mess when their dogs foul. Pieces have gone into the village news about this issue and following recent patrols of the area, PCSO Benson has seen a decrease in levels of dog mess.

(updated 26 February 2010)

While on patrol in the village, PCSO Benson saw a young man riding a mini-moto on Dover Road. The young man was taken home by PC Large and given a formal warning that his bike may be seized if he is seen using it to cause nuisance again in the next 12 months. Since this occurred in December 2009, no new complaints have been received about this problem. This priority will be closed at this time but the local PCSO, Annmarie Benson will continue to monitor the area.

Speeding - Gore Lane, Mill Lane and Sandwich Road

Speeding vehicles on these roads, particularly at school drop off and pick up times.

(updated 21 December 2009)

Officers recently carried out speed checks in Lower Street and Sandwich Road, warning several motorists about their speed. One motorist seen driving in an anti-social way was warned that he risked having his vehicle seized if he continued to do so. Following the speed check, a speed indication device was used in Lower Street to monitor vehicles' speeds and the number exceeding the speed limit had been reduced. The number of complaints about vehicles speeding has also fallen.
