You said

Other issues - Tudor Drive/Tudor Crescent

At a surgery in March, it was discussed that over the past weeks there have been problems with young people on motor bikes causing a nuisance with noise and damage to the grass in the fields.

PCSO Wright has been patrolling the area and liaising with the parish clerk about any reports they have received. A leaflet drop has been completed in the area. The leaflets include PCSO Wright's contact details and information about how to avoid becoming a victim of burglary during the summer as a part of the Kent Police Safer Summer campaign. A crime reduction officer and PCSO visited the area to help owners fit alarms on sheds.

You said

Environmental - Telston Lane, Otford

Residents of Telston Lane have reported fires burning late at night at a local property and have raised concerns that the fumes were entering their property and affecting their quality of life.

We did

PC Clatworthy and officers from the Sevenoaks District Council environmental team visited the property and spoke to the owners. It has established there is no evidence that materials causing health problems are being burned in the fires. In the past few weeks there have been no complaints in this area but PC Clatworthy and PCSO Wright will continue to monitor the situation

Parking - Main routes through Shoreham village

Parking problems have reduced traffic flow to a unacceptable level and are causing problems for members of the public walking in the village.

PCSO Wright spoke to a representative of Kent Highway Services on 2 February, who informed her that he will soon be placing an order for yellow lines to be marked at the junction of Crown Road. He will also be paying passing attention to the surrounding area opposite the George Public house to consider the possibility of marking double yellow lines there. PCSO Wright is keeping the parish council clerk informed.

Speeding - Shoreham Road, Otford

Officers have received several complaints from Otford residents about the number of motorists speeding along Shoreham Road

The area motorcycle team has carried out a number of checks and 15 drivers were given speeding tickets (a £60 fine and three points). A further 20 motorists were stopped and given verbal warnings. On 23 February PC Clatworthy, PCSO Wright and PCSO Coomber carried out a speed check at 10am in Shoreham Road and gave three verbal warnings to motorists.

Anti-social behaviour - Shoreham Woods

On Sunday 7 February, officers on motorcycles visited Holly Hill, Horseholders Wood, Birling, Andrews Wood and Pilot Woods in Shoreham, Pilgrims Way and the St. Clere Estate at Exedown, Kemsing, and the North Downs Way at Wrotham. Four motorcycles were seized, one as possibly having been stolen, another because its rider ignored a previous warning and two because they were not insured. A quad bike was also seized because the rider did not have insurance or a valid driving licence.

Speeding - Sevenoaks Road ,opposite Beadles

Following a accident earlier on this year the 40mph advisory speed limit sign was destroyed. This has been raised as a concern by the community because this is a hot spot for road traffic collisions.

PCSO Wright is pleased to announce that the new interactive sign was put in place by Kent Highway Services on Thursday 11 February and is working.

You said

Environmental - Old Otford Road, Otford

A caravan has been parked in the road without permission.

We did

PCSO Wright visited the site on 7 November to check on the situation and found that the caravan has been removed. As such, this problem can be considered resolved.
