Deputy Chief Constable

Alan Pughsley

Alan Pughsley was appointed Deputy Chief Constable at Kent Police in March 2011.

He joined Kent Police in April 2009 as Assistant Chief Constable for Specialist Operations, heading up the joint Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.

Before this, Alan worked at the Metropolitan Police Service since 1984.

Alan has expertise in murder investigations, armed robbery, firearms and drug related crimes.

He has also worked with Surrey Police as a Detective Superintendent before returning to the Metropolitan Police as a Borough Commander in Lewisham, South London.

Alan was responsible for 640 police officers and 180 police staff to deliver national crime reduction targets and improve customer confidence.
