The planning committee is the highest corporate decision-making body at Kent Police.

It is made up of the Chief Constable (chair), police and civilian chief officers, chief superintendents, heads of departments at headquarters and the best value manager.

Other officers and police support staff are invited to attend when needed.

Purpose

The committee considers and approves all major policy decisions or refers them on to the Kent Police Authority when appropriate.

This includes the allocation and management of personnel, finance, strategy and resourcing.

The committee receives reports on the progress of both internal and externally generated projects and allocates responsibility to other forums where necessary.

The committee meets on a monthly basis.
