How we are doing

Local and national performance

Local objectives and targets

Like all police forces in England and Wales we publish a policing plan. Policing Kent 2010-13 sets out our aims, objectives and targets for the next 12 months.

Statement of accounts

The Statement of Accounts for financial year 2008/09 illustrates income and expenditure of the Kent Police Authority up until 31 March 2009.

Kent Crime and Victimisation Survey

The Kent Crime and Victimisation Survey (KCVS) helps us to measure:

'the percentage of people who agree that the police and local council are dealing with the anti-social behaviour and crime issues that matter in their local area.'

HMIC Report Card 2008/09

Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) has carried out a consultation with the public and stakeholders and produced the Kent Police Report Card.

The consultation, which relates to the 2008/09 financial year, reports on 'those aspects of individual force performance which matter most to the public..'.

    HMIC Value for money profiles

Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) has produced a value for money profile for each police force in England and Wales that show how they use their officers and staff and spend their money to deliver local policing. Kent Police's value for money profiles show that we have achieved significant improvements in performance, with the third highest reduction for all crime in our most similar forces between 2005/6 and 2008/9.

    Home Office reports

The Home Office produces a report every year that allows comparison between police forces in England and Wales.
