Policing Kent 2010-13  (4.9mb) sets out in detail our plans over the next three years.

Our priorities, strategic ambitions and annual objectives are as follows:

Building public confidence

Our ambition by March 2012 is to be:

• top ten nationally and top two in our most similar group of forces for public confidence as measured by the British Crime Survey.

Our objectives for 2010-11 are:

• improving public confidence
• improving victim satisfaction 
• improving visibility, accessibility and responsiveness.

Effectively tackling crime and anti-social behaviour

Our ambition by March 2012 is to be:

• top ten nationally and top two in our most similar group of forces for the level ‘all crime’ as measured by police recorded crime.

Our objectives for 2010-11 are:

• reducing crime and anti-social behaviour
• ensuring a high detection rate
• tackling repeat victimisation and repeat offending.

Protecting the public

Our ambition by March 2012 is to:

• meet or exceed the standard across every Protective Service inspected by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC).

Our objectives for 2010-11 are:

• developing our Protective Services capability 
• protecting the public from serious and organised crime 
• making the roads safer.

Making best use of our resources

Our ambition by March 2012 is to:

achieve level 4 in the Use of Resources (UOR) assessment as measured by the Audit Commission.

Our objectives for 2010-11 are:

• demonstrating increasing efficiency 
• supporting and developing our workforce.

These are all underpinned by an overarching strategic ambition to achieve ‘excellence’ and consolidate both the level and consistency of the service we provide to the public by March 2013.
