The Kent People's Trust charity gives active support, funds and expertise to local projects, working to reduce crime and improve community safety.
In six years, the trust has given more than £500,000 to local projects including walking buses, safer shopping schemes, community clean ups and providing activities for young people.
The board of trustees are experts drawn from across Kent’s private and public sectors including Kent Police. They meet every three months to consider applications.

The Trust also provides an opportunity for businesses to become involved in joint ventures to benefit local communities.
KPT is a charity (charity number 1081345) and is entirely dependent on the generosity of local businesses, public sector bodies and local people for funding.
Bryn Price is the director of the Kent People’s Trust and says: 'The Kent People's Trust has moved from a charity which helps people in the community fight crime, to a charity that now works as an active partner to achieve results in the sector. The links we have, make us uniquely skilled to achieve results.'
Allan Willet, Lord Lieutenant of Kent, and the Bishop of Rochester, the Right Reverend Dr Michael Nazir-Ali, are both patrons of the charity.
Kent Police is a core member of the KPT and provides the trust with office accommodation so every penny they raise can go to projects that will make the county a safer and happier place to live.
