Stammtisch - lorry drivers

Tell us your views at our service station meetings

stammtisch_web

Stammtisch meetings were originally formed by the police to provide a more effective way to engage with lorry drivers, to help improve safety and reduce criminal activity on our roads.

The idea has now been adopted throughout Europe and Stammtisch meetings are held regulary throughout the UK.

How it works?

Drivers have the opportunity to speak to officers about any aspect of driving within the commercial vehicle sector, and to ask questions they may have about issues that concern or interest them.

The meetings are a good opportunity to demonstrate to the drivers that Kent Police takes the issues they raise seriously. Officers also feedback to the drivers about action taken on concerns raised at previous meets.

At our Stammtisch sessions you will recieve important updates on any changes in the law that may effect you and your company. You will also recieve a driver’s pack that contains safety items and advice on protecting both yourself and your load.

Come and have your say

We hold Stammtisch meetings on the first Wednesday of every month between 8am and 12pm at one of two locations within the county;

  • Clackett Lane Services on the 'B' (Kent bound) carriageway of the M25 or
  • Hollingbourne Services at Junction 8 on the M20

Advice in other languages

Officers will bring along a selection of safety advice and contact information in a range of different languages.

  • Guide to parking safely: how to keep your lorry/load safe - available in Spanish, French, Polish, Czech and Slovak
  • Leaflet explaining what Stammtisch is and how you can get involved - available in Polish, German, French.
