Dominic Michael Moffatt

Moffatt was sentenced to 60 days in prison for driving and drug offences

Dominic Michael Moffatt, 21, of Leicester Gardens, Warden, Sheerness was sentenced on 19 October 2011 at Mid Kent Magistrates’ Court.

Moffatt pleaded guilty to drink driving, possession of a controlled drug, using a vehicle without insurance and failing to surrender to police/court bail.

On 30 July 2011 in Sheerness, Moffatt drove a Ford Focus along Imperial Drive without insurance and while over the drink drive limit. He had 102 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

On 31 July 2011 in Sittingbourne, Moffatt was found with a quantity of cocaine in his possession. On 1 September 2011 in Maidstone, Moffatt failed to surrender to police/court bail.

Magistrates sentenced Moffatt to a total of 60 days in prison because of the seriousness of the offence and Moffatt’s failure to respond to previous court orders.

Moffatt was also disqualified from driving for 24 months. Disqualification can be reduced by six months if, by 19 February 2013, Moffatt satisfactorily completes a course approved by the Secretary of State costing £192.
