Harwood was disqualified from driving and ordered to carry out 50 hours of unpaid work for drink driving

Justin Alan Harwood, 26, of Albert Reed Gardens, Maidstone was sentenced on 18 October 2011 at Mid Kent Magistrates’ Court.

Harwood pleaded guilty to drink driving.

On 17 September 2011 in Maidstone, Harwood drove a Nissan Almera along St Peter’s Street while over the drink drive limit. He had 96 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Magistrates disqualified Harwood from driving for 24 months and ordered him to carry out 50 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months.

He must also pay £85 court costs.

Disqualification can be reduced by six months if, by 16 February 2013, Harwood satisfactorily completes a course approved by the Secretary of State costing £192.
