Gates was disqualified from driving and fined for drink driving

Trevor Gates, 54, of Charles Drayson Court, Faversham was sentenced on 18 October 2011 at Mid Kent Magistrates’ Court.

Gates pleaded guilty to two counts of drink driving.

On 1 September 2011 in Faversham, Gates drove a Kia Pride along Preston Street while over the drink drive limit. He had 117 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of urine. The legal limit is 107 milligrammes.

On 30 September 2011 in Faversham, Gates drove a Kia Pride along Westgate Road while over the drink drive limit. He had 61 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Magistrates disqualified him from driving for 17 months, and fined him a total of £340. He must also pay £85 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

Disqualification can be reduced by 130 days if, by 6 September 2012, Gates satisfactorily completes a course approved by the Secretary of State costing £192.
