Samson was disqualified from driving and fined for drink driving

Paul James Samson, 23, of Canterbury Road, Dover was sentenced on 28 October 2011 at Channel Magistrates’ Court, Folkestone.

Samson pleaded guilty to drink driving.

On 16 October 2011 in Lydden, Samson drove a Rover along Canterbury Road, Lydden while over the drink drive limit. He had 72 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Magistrates disqualified Samson from driving for 20 months and fined him £200. He must also pay £85 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

Disqualification can be reduced by five months if, by 26 November 2012, Samson satisfactorily completes a course approved by the Secretary of State costing £192.
