Man stopped on bike arrested for alleged drugs possession

Suspect caught in Dover in a place where riding is prohibited

Default News 2

Neighbourhood Police Sergeant Samantha Parker was on patrol in Biggin Street, Dover on 7 November when she intervened with a man riding his bike, which is prohibited in that area.

While talking to the 28-year-old, Sgt Parker became suspicious and tried to detain him to carry out a search for drugs.

He got back on his bike and managed to get away. However, Sgt Parker saw him later that day and arrested him on suspicion of obstructing a police officer.

He was searched and allegedly had £1,125 in cash and a quantity of a drug in his possession, suspected to be crack cocaine.

He was released on bail until 10 January 2013 while officers make further enquiries.
