Pair charged following Dartford shooting

Man and woman due to appear in court on 16 February

A man and a woman have been charged by officers investigating the fatal shooting of a man in Dartford.

Michaela Sargeant, 24, of Overy Street, Dartford, has been charged with murder while Lewis Wickenden, 25, of Overy Street, Dartford has been charged with possessing a firearm, possessing ammunition and assisting an offender.

Officers were called to Overy Street, Dartford, shortly before 8pm on 12 February to a report of a man with a gunshot wound. McKinley, 32, was taken to hospital but later died of his injuries.

Wickenden and Sargeant were both arrested that day on suspicion of murder.

A further two men were arrested on 13 February in connection with the incident but were both released without charge.

Both Wickenden and Sargeant are due to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 16 February via the virtual court system.
