2.1. This policy provides guidance around the processes to be followed regarding the requesting and installation of temporary police alarms.
Compliance with this policy and any linked procedures is mandatory.
3.1. This policy provides processes to enable Kent Police to manage the process around installing alarms required to offer protection to vulnerable persons or premises.
4.1. Finance/staffing/training/other
4.1.1. Failure to comply with the current procedures may lead to vulnerable persons or premises being exposed to unnecessary risk.
4.1.2. There is a requirement for officers to understand the requesting and installation process as well as the cost implications of not following this policy
4.2. Risk assessment
4.2.1. This policy has been assessed as medium risk.
4.2.2. Officers should be aware that there may be hazards associated with attendance at a property subject of a temporary policy alarm.
4.2.3. Officers should conduct their own dynamic assessment upon attendance at such a premises.
4.2.4. This should include any assessment of risk posed by a potential perpetrator identified from the original intelligence supporting the initial alarm installation.
4.3. Equality Impact Assessment (EIA)
4.3.1. An EIA has been carried out and shows the proposals in this policy would have no potential or actual differential impact on grounds of race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, transgender, disability, age, religion or belief or sexual orientation.
