1.1. The following amendments have been made on 18 July 2024:
2.1. This policy provides mandatory direction to operational officers in relation to the policing response when dealing with members of the armed forces.
Compliance with this policy and any supporting SOP is mandatory.
3.1 This policy is devised to ensure that officers respond appropriately when dealing with any incident that may involve a person/persons who are members of the armed forces. Such persons will generally be dealt with by the civil police and the civil courts where the offence involves the general public and their property. In other cases, the matter may be dealt with by the relevant armed forces authorities following consultation with the Service Police Crime Bureau (SPCB).
4.1. This policy has been assessed as low risk.
5.1. An EIA has been carried out and shows that the proposals in this policy would have no potential or actual differential impact on grounds of race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, transgender, disability, age, religion or belief or sexual orientation.
6.1. This policy will be reviewed every two years with the next review scheduled for July 2026.
8.1. Kent Police have measures in place to protect the security of your data in accordance with our Information Management policy.
9.1. Kent Police will hold data in accordance with our Records Review, Retention and Disposal policy.
