1.1. This policy incorporates the previous policies on allowances and mileage rates previously owned by finance and also those owned by HR. There are no changes other than consolidation and minor wording amendments.
2.1. This policy governs the rates of reimbursement for mileage and allowances applicable to all officers and staff employed by the chief constable.
Compliance with this policy and any linked procedures is mandatory.
3.1. Kent Police values include using resources wisely and serving with integrity. This policy helps underpin these values by setting out the circumstances under which allowances can be claimed by officers and staff and the rates that should be applied.
4.1. Finance/staffing/training
4.1.1. This policy is applicable to all officers and staff employed by the chief constable and affects the costs bourne by the force and the reimbursement of its staff in their duties.
4.2. Risk assessment
4.2.1. This policy has been assessed as low risk.
4.3. Equality Impact Assessment (EIA)
4.3.1. An EIA has been carried out and providing they are correctly and evenly applied, it shows that the proposals in this procedure would have no potential or actual differential impact on grounds of race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, transgender, disability, age, religion or belief or sexual orientation.
