Apologies
The record of the meeting of 29 July 2025 was approved.
ACO Leicester introduced the paper as previously shared. PSE King presented the paper seeking approval from Chief Officers for Kent Police to deliver the PIP 1 Investigative Supervisor Programme under the College of Policing Phase 2 Pilot.
The College of Policing have mandated that the phase 2 pilot cohort must be working in PIP 1 crime management environment and have been promoted to sergeant within the last five years. Organisational management data indicates that there are 39 sergeants across LPT and VBCT promoted since 2023 (not already PIP2 accredited). Of those, seven are VBCT sergeants and 32 are LPT sergeants. It is recommended that the Kent Police cohort size does not exceed 14 sergeants.
Having reviewed the training material issued by College of Policing, it was recommended that four days pre-course learning are allocated, followed by nine days training delivery and one day hydra delivery to further support and underline all learning objectives and three days PLT post classroom elements to complete the digital workbook. This totals 17 days abstraction per officer.
Chief Officers considered the proposal, suggesting VBCT sergeants should take priority whilst concerns regarding abstractions were also noted.
Decision
There was no further business for the open session.
