Apologies
The record was approved.
Action 34/24 - included within finance paper. Discharged.
Action 43/24 - completed and discharged.
PSE Louisa Neiles presented the paper as previously shared with the meeting which provided an overview of the Peel Improvement Plan to date. Following the FIDB earlier in the day, it was noted AFI 2 on problem solving plans remains open for further work on sharing best practice, but otherwise paper remains as is.
New action 44/24:
PSE Louisa Neiles to provide the anticipated completion dates for each of the seven AFIs still in progress following the next Future Improvement & Development Board on 18 March 2025.
Ch/Supt Shaun White presented the paper as previously shared with the meeting which highlighted recent work on the four work-streams of the Police Race Action Plan. Since June 2024, a new governance structure has been agreed to oversee the plan to ensure that it is being progressed effectively and the Race Action Plan seeks to improve the experience of black and black heritage people of policing which remains the focus of Kent Police. The next PRAP update is due in six month's time.
New action 45/24:
Ch/Supt White to meet with the CC and DCC in January 2025 to discuss key PRAP themes for achievement in 2025.
PSE Kirsty Winter presented the slides as previously shared with the meeting and highlighted the key achievements in the preceding period, development plans for 2025 included within the current contract, and potential future opportunities subject to funding. Chief Officers discussed the future opportunities offered. The chief constable asked to be kept updated on contract discussions and is interested in the further opportunities offered in auto-transcription, AI report writing and body worn video. The chief constable acknowledged the excellent work in both the initial DAMS contract procurement and the maximisation of the included functionality.
Decision:
It was agreed the six-month DAMS update is no longer required as a COMB agenda item.
PSE Louisa Neiles presented the paper as previously shared with the meeting providing further details of the HM Inspectorate of Probation and HMICFRS joint thematic inspection of youth out of court disposals. The inspection will be held in conjunction with the Kent Youth Justice Service and commences week beginning 24 February 2025. There were no actions or decisions.
There was no further business for the open session.
Tuesday 14 January 2025, 1pm, County Room.
