PSE Jonathan Castle presented the paper as previously shared providing a high-level update on the Q3 finance report. The report provided on-going insight into this year and highlighted emerging trends, key areas of anticipated variance and potential impacts on the next financial year. In summary, the forecast as at P9 was for an underspend of £1.8m on service expenditure budgets which when combined with an additional £0.5m of council tax surplus led to the projected position being one of £2.3m underspend. PSE Castle highlighted risks and opportunities, and Chief Officers discussed the impact of neighbourhood policing model and PSE vacancy factor.
New action 06/25:
PSE Jonathan Castle & ACO Claire Medhurst to work through the projected underspend figures and produce a plan for further discussion with the DCC.
Chief Officers noted and approved the timetable for 2024/25 Annual Accounts.
