On 17 September 2026 PC 14204 Lewis appeared before an accelerated misconduct hearing relating to failure to meet standards under the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020. The case arose from allegations that the officer had been dishonest when arresting a person and failing to safeguard children at the property.
The hearing was held in public.
PC 14204 Lewis did accept that the conduct alleged amounted to gross misconduct.
Having considered the cases put forward by the appropriate authority and the officer, the Chair found the case proven to be one of gross misconduct.
The Chair considered that the officers conduct had breached the standards of professional behaviour relating to honesty and integrity, duties and responsibilities, orders and instructions and discreditable conduct.
In considering the disciplinary outcome, the Chair considered the officer’s personal record, a number of character references, and representations regarding outcome presented by the appropriate authority and the officer’s Federation representative.
PC 14204 Lewis was dismissed without notice and is to be added to the barred list.
