Community Protection Warnings (CPWs), Community Protection Notices (CPNs), and Community Protection Orders (CPOs) are tools used to address and prevent anti-social behaviour. These measures aim to protect communities from activities that negatively impact their quality of life and are part of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
Community Protection Warning (CPW): is a written warning issued to an individual or group engaging in anti-social behaviour. It states that if the behaviour does not stop, they will get a Community Protection Notice.
Community Protection Notice (CPN): is a formal notice tells the recipient to stop the anti-social behaviour and fix the situation. If they don’t follow the notice, they can be fined or face other legal action.
Community Protection Order (CPO): CPOs can encompass various orders aimed at preventing anti-social behaviour, including injunctions and Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs). These orders can impose restrictions on individuals to prevent further disruptive activities.
These measures are part of broader efforts to maintain public order and ensure that communities remain safe and pleasant places to live.
