Apprenticeships - real life experiences
Read the experiences of some Kent Police apprentices talking about what they got out of the scheme..
- Abigail, apprentice in Kent Special Constabulary
From a young age, I’ve always wanted to work for the police so I thought the best option was to apply for the Business and Administration apprenticeship programme.
Leaving school and working for a large organisation was daunting at first, however once I got to know the team I was able to relax and learn vital information to succeed in completing my apprenticeship.
I was responsible for looking after the administration for the Kent Special Constabulary. I really enjoyed working with volunteers and was able to transfer the skills I’ve learnt to secure a permanent role as Police Cadets Administration Assistant.
I’m extremely grateful to the Kent Police Apprenticeship Scheme for giving me the opportunity to complete the process and putting me in a good position to secure a permanent job. I would highly recommend anyone interested in the organisation, to get involved.
