Appeal for witnesses after Folkestone assault

Kent Police is appealing for witnesses following the report of an assault in Folkestone.

The assault is reported to have taken place in Rendezvous Street just before midnight on Saturday 3 March 2018.

Head injury

The victim, a man in his 40s, was taken to a local hospital with a head injury.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Beth Gumley said: ‘This appears to be a totally unprovoked assault which left the victim needing 15 stitches to the back of his head.

‘We believe there were a lot of people in the area at the time, and we are appealing for anyone who saw the assault – or events leading up to it - to contact us.’

A 21-year-old man from the Folkestone area has been arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been released while enquiries continue.
