Fatal collision on A229 Blue Bell Hill

Officers investigating a fatal collision on the A229 Blue Bell Hill are continuing to appeal for information.

Kent Police was called at 12.50am on Saturday 25 May 2019 after a black Peugeot 206 overturned on the Maidstone-bound carriageway between the Lord Lees Roundabout and a slip road leading to Eccles and Aylesford.

The driver of the Peugeot, a 23-year-old man from Buckinghamshire, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

On Sunday 26 May, the driver of a red BMW car, also reported to be involved, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

He was later released pending further investigation.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are continuing to appeal to any witnesses who may have important information to come forward.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone with dashcam footage of the collision itself, or of the vehicles involved.
