Appeal for witnesses following assault in Canterbury

Detectives investigating an assault in Old Dover Road, Canterbury are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The incident is reported to have occurred at about 1pm on Tuesday 16 October.  

The victim reported that he was walking along the road when he was approached by a group of people.  An altercation took place and the victim was punched to the head.  He was taken to a local hospital for treatment for a fractured skull and cheek and has since returned home.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Mark Huttley said: “We continue to carry out a number of enquiries into the incident but I am particularly looking for anyone who may have captured it on their mobile phone or who has dash cam footage of the incident which I hope will give us a clearer picture of what happened.”
