Investigators are appealing for information following a report of an attempted robbery in Gillingham.
The incident happened in Wood Street at around 5.25pm on Friday 2 August 2024. The victim, a teenage boy, was with a group of friends, when they were approached by around five men who they did not know.
It is alleged the men demanded the boy hand over his phone, bag and shoes, and prevented him from running away. The suspects are then reported to have stolen a phone from one of the victim’s friends before they left the scene.
One of the men is described as being black, aged 19 to 20 years old, around six feet tall and with short black hair. He was wearing a grey top and dark grey shorts. A second man is described as white with long black hair and wearing a light grey, zipped top.
Investigating officer, PC Andrew Kendall-Weaver, said: ‘We have been investigating this incident including the review of local CCTV. It is understood there were members of the public in the area at the time who may was seen what happened. I would urge them to contact our appeal line.
‘Residents with private CCTV and motorists with dashcam are also asked to check for relevant footage.’
