Detectives investigating a report of a sexual assault at a hotel in Tonbridge are seeking to identity a female witness who may have important information.
The incident is alleged to have taken place during the early hours of Thursday 17 February 2022, after a woman had been on a night out in Tunbridge Wells.
The victim and a friend had initially attended a town centre pub in Mount Pleasant at around 10.50pm on Wednesday 16 February. It is reported that shortly after midnight they left in the company of three men who they had met in the pub.
All five were joined by an unknown woman, before they got into a taxi from Tunbridge Wells train station. The victim’s friend was dropped home, before the taxi took everyone else to a Premier Inn in Pembury Road, Tonbridge. It is alleged the victim was later assaulted in one of the hotel rooms.
An investigation has since led to the arrests of four men in connection with the incident, all of whom are currently bailed pending further enquiries.
Detective Constable Paul Williams said: ‘We now looking to identify the unknown woman, who also travelled in the taxi and was present at the hotel, and are urging her to contact us. She was described as being aged in her mid to late 20's, around five feet and five inches tall and with black hair.'
