Appeal after assault near Wainscott

Officers investigating an assault near Wainscott are seeking witnesses and dashcam footage.

On Wednesday 9 September 2026, at about 4.10am, the victim reported that the driver of a white van cut in front of his car in Lower Rochester Road near the junction with Hasted Road, prompting him to swerve onto a curb.

When he exited his black Ford Fiesta to check for damage, he was reportedly punched 3 times in the face by the van driver, who was described as a white man in his 40s and of large build. He was believed to be wearing blue shorts and a blue top, and to have curly hair.

The victim required hospital treatment for his injuries but has since been discharged.
