Detectives investigating a report of an attempted robbery in Margate have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
It was reported that the victim, a teenage boy, was travelling on his e-scooter along Approach Road towards Northdown Park Road at around 7pm on Wednesday 19 February 2025 when the incident took place.
As he stopped at the junction of Lower Northdown Avenue, another boy on an e-scooter approached him and assaulted him before attempting to steal the victim’s scooter.
A weapon, reported to be a device similar to a Taser, was reportedly used during the attempted robbery.
A woman intervened and the offender left empty-handed. The victim did not sustain any injuries.
Officers are investigating the attempted robbery and would like to speak to any witnesses, in particular the member of the public who stopped to help.
Anyone who might have private CCTV, doorbell camera or dashcam footage taken in the area is also urged to come forward.
