Officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a suspicious incident on the M2 near Blue Bell Hill.
On Monday 9 February 2026, at 3.08pm, Kent Police received calls about a man running along the slip road of the coastbound carriageway holding what is described as a weapon.
The man was black, of slim build and bald or with very short hair. He was wearing a green puffer jacket and was also holding a black duffel bag.
Officers attended and closed the motorway while enquiries took place but did not locate the man.
An investigation is underway and officers are urging any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police, and motorists with relevant dashcam footage, to call them on 01622 604100 quoting crime reference 46/22984/26.
