Officers investigating an assault and a separate disturbance in Canterbury, reported in the early hours of Sunday 5 January 2024, are appealing for witnesses to both incidents.
It was reported to Kent Police at 2.11am that a woman had been approached in Military Road by a man who was unknown to her and who demanded she give him her purse. The victim sustained facial injuries having been assaulted before she was able to leave the area in a vehicle with a third person.
Officers attended and carried out initial enquiries. The suspect was described as white, in his early 20s and of slim build, with medium length dark hair, wearing a hoody and a silver chain and carrying a small ‘Nike’ bag.
At around the same time, a report was made to police of a disturbance in which a man had made threats to two men outside an address on Starle Close. The men were able to go into a nearby property and the man left the scene on foot.
Investigators are appealing to anyone with relevant information about either incident, including private CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward.
Witnesses are urged to contact Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/2228/25. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555111 or complete their online form.
