Investigators are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a report of an assault in Larkfield.
The incident happened at around 5.40pm on Saturday 4 November 2023, as a woman was driving her car with a child onboard, on the A228 Malling Road towards Castle Way, before turning into Leybourne Way.
Following a minor traffic incident involving another car, the woman came to a halt at temporary traffic lights in Lunsford Lane.
A man then got out of the other vehicle and is alleged to have smashed two of the victim’s windows with a crowbar. He then left the scene towards Gighill Road, driving a white Volkswagen Golf or Polo.
PC Lewis Lowdell of the Maidstone Victim Based Crime Team, said:
‘This was an unprovoked assault that resulted in the victim and her child being covered in glass. It was fortunate they were not injured and we are appealing to any witnesses to contact us.
‘Motorists with dashcam who were using roads in the area at the time of the incident - including Malling Road, Castle Way, Leybourne Way and Lunsford Lane - are asked to check for footage of a white Volkswagen Golf of Polo.’
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Kent Police on 01622 604100, quoting reference 46/196887/23.
