Investigators are appealing for witnesses after an attempt was made to steal a woman’s handbag in Rochester.
The victim, who is in her 40s, was walking in John Street when two men approached her from behind at around 5pm on Monday 10 February 2025.
It is alleged the men tried to forcibly take her bag, but she resisted and they fled empty-handed.
The suspects were both white and around 5ft 10 ins. One, who was in his 20s, had spikey brown hair and was wearing a long black coat to his knees, blue jeans and trainers.
The other man is described as being bald, aged between 20 and 30, and was wearing a grey jumper, blue jeans and trainers.
Officers believe there were a number of people in the area who may have witnessed the incident, including a woman who was standing close to the scene.
