Officers investigating a burglary in Staplehurst are urging anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
On Tuesday 5 July 2022 between 1pm and 2pm an unknown man knocked on the door of a residential property in Jaggard Way.
It was reported that the man offered the homeowner garden services in exchange for cash. He asked to have a look at the back garden and she allowed him inside the house for that purpose. When she went upstairs to get cash, the suspect followed without permission and is alleged to have pushed her to the floor before stealing her purse and running from the property.
The suspect is described as a large, clean shaven white man, who is around 5 feet and 7 inches tall. He was wearing a dark blue body warmer and an orange baseball cap.
Since the report, officers have carried out a number of enquiries to locate the suspect and would like to hear from anyone else who has CCTV in this area, and who might have caught the suspect on camera in one of the nearby roads.
Anyone who hasn’t already provided information is urged to call 01622 604100 quoting reference 46/129086/22.
