Appeal following report of attempted theft in Maidstone

Private CCTV, dashcam footage and witnesses are sought following a report of an attempted motorbike theft in Maidstone.

Kent Police was called at 12.38am on Tuesday 28 July 2026, to a report of three men in balaclavas taking a motorbike from a property near Buckland Hill.

It is alleged the suspects left the scene towards Maidstone East train station after being disturbed by a member of the public, and left the bike behind.

Officers attended the scene to carry out initial enquiries, including a review of CCTV, and an investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances.

Local residents with private CCTV or drivers with dashcam, who may have been in the area at the time of the incident, are also asked to check for footage.
