A man has died in hospital following a serious collision on the M20 near Maidstone.
At around 11.30pm on Wednesday 12 November 2025, a grey Volkswagen Polo was reportedly travelling against the flow of traffic on the coastbound carriageway between junctions 8 and 9.
Shortly afterwards a collision took place involving the car and a white Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van. Emergency services attended the scene.
The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was airlifted to a London hospital where he died on Thursday 13 November. His next of kin have been informed.
The other motorist was treated at hospital for minor injuries and has since been discharged.
An investigation by Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is underway. Anyone who saw the collision, or either vehicle prior to it, is urged to contact police.
