Appeal for witnesses after cannabis package delivered to house in Gillingham

Witnesses are sought after an unexpected parcel containing cannabis was delivered to a house in Gillingham.

At about 1.20pm on Friday 4 September 2026, the package was delivered to a property in Livingstone Road. Shortly afterwards, a man knocked at the door claiming to be from the delivery company, saying there had been a mix up and they needed to take it back.

The homeowner declined to hand it over as they had been expecting a parcel themselves.

They received 2 further visits from him and another man saying it was their parcel and on each occasion the resident turned them away.

As the incidents appeared unusual, Kent Police was called and patrols found the parcel contained several bags of cannabis.

Investigation

An investigation is ongoing into the circumstances and officers would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed anything suspicious.

The first man is described as black, in his 20s and of stocky build. He was wearing a black and purple cargo style jacket, with black cargo trousers.

The second was white, in his early 20s, of a skinny build, clean shaven and shorter in height. He was believed to be wearing jogging trousers.
