A suspect has been arrested and witnesses are sought after a man was assaulted with a noxious substance in Sittingbourne.
The victim, who is in his 20s, reported that between 8.40pm and 8.50pm on Saturday 13 April 2024, he was outside a public house in Brewery Road when he was approached by two men.
One of the men is alleged to have assaulted the victim while the second squirted a noxious substance in his face. He was later treated at hospital for facial injuries.
An investigation was commenced into the incident and, on Sunday 14 April, a 32-year-old local man was arrested and taken into custody.
Detective Sergeant Hannah Brown, of North Division CID, said: ‘A number of people were in the area at the time of the incident and we are urging anyone who witnessed anything to get in touch. We also understand one person may have some footage on their mobile phone that could assist the investigation and we would be particularly keen to talk to them.
