The assault happened at The Brenchley pub in the High Street and left a man suffering head injuries.
The incident took place during the evening of 17 January 2025 after the victim had visited the pub with a friend.
The suspect was unknown to the victim and is alleged to have struck him following an earlier verbal altercation, before leaving the scene. The man assaulted received cuts and bruising.
An investigation has now led to the recovery of CCTV images of a man officers wish to identify and speak to.
