CCTV appeal following reported burglary near Tunbridge Wells

Officers investigating a report of a burglary in Southborough have released a CCTV image of a man who may be able to assist with enquiries.

Kent Police was called at 3.11am on Wednesday 16 September 2026 to a report of a break-in at Tesco Express near St Andrews Park Road.

It is alleged a man broke into the premises and stole a quantity of cash before leaving the scene on foot towards London Road.

An investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances and to identify the person responsible.

Following initial enquiries, officers are now able to release a CCTV image of a man who may be able to assist with their investigation.

Appeal

PC Danny Barnes said:

‘We appreciate the man cannot be clearly identified from the image, but we are hopeful somebody may still be able to recognise him from his profile and clothing.’

Anyone with information, or who recognises the man pictured, is urged to call the west Kent appeals line on 01622 604100, quoting reference 16-0094.

Local residents with private CCTV or drivers with dashcam, who may have been in the area at the time of the incident, are also asked to check for footage.
