Witnesses and dashcam footage are sought after a young child was struck by a car in Maidstone which then drove from the scene.
The girl, aged nine, was injured at around 9pm on Monday 23 June 2025, in Oak Tree Avenue at the junction with Mangravet Avenue.
It is reported a vehicle collided with her as she was crossing the road and that the driver initially stopped before leaving in the direction of Grove Road.
The girl was taken to hospital by South East Coast Ambulance Service and is not thought to have suffered any serious injuries.
Officers are urging anyone with information to contact them and are asking drivers with dashcam, as well as residents in the area with doorbell and CCTV cameras, to check for any important footage.
The vehicle was described as a black hatchback, possibly Peugeot or Vauxhall, and may have a registration plate starting LY08.
