Collision involving elderly pedestrian in Maidstone

Witnesses are sought following a collision involving a car and an elderly pedestrian in Maidstone.
The collision happened at around 12.15pm on 29 December 2020 in Milton Street, close to the junction with Bazalgette Rise.
The victim, aged 69 and from Maidstone, was treated for his injuries at hospital.
He also received care for a separate medical condition and has since died at the hospital. His next of kin are aware.
It is reported the car involved in the collision was a silver Ford Focus and that it failed to stop and left the scene.
Shortly after the incident officers arrested a 53-year-old local man on suspicion of driving offences. He was later released, pending further investigation.
