Information is sought following concerns a man has been approaching lone women in Maidstone town centre.
A suspect has been arrested in connection with reports that in recent weeks several females may have been followed and also spoken to inappropriately.
On 21 December 2021, police were called to suspicious incidents in areas including Fremlin Walk and Week Street.
At 2.40pm the following day, a 29-year-old man from Chatham was arrested on suspicion of public order offences. He is currently bailed to return to a police station on 29 December.
PC Keith Roostan said: ‘We are trying to establish the circumstances of any possible offences and believe it is likely there may be a number of women or teenage girls who have been approached, or may feel they have been followed in recent days. ‘If you have seen a man acting suspiciously, or have information which may assist our investigation, please call us on 01622 604100, quoting reference 46/263187/21.’
