Witnesses and dashcam footage are sought by officers following a fatal collision near Maidstone.
Kent Police was called at 1.27pm on Saturday 13 June 2026, following the single vehicle collision on London Road, Ditton.
A silver Vauxhall Astra left the road and collided into a tree and fencing. The incident happened opposite an entrance to a Lidl supermarket. The driver, a man in his 40s, was airlifted to a hospital in London where he subsequently died. His next of kin have been informed.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit continue their enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident and urge anyone who saw the collision, or who might have seen the vehicle beforehand, to contact police.
Motorists who were in the area are urged to check for any dashcam footage, which may assist the investigation. Footage can be uploaded via Kent Police’s online portal here.
