Investigation after man acting inappropriately towards woman in Chatham

Detectives have launched an investigation after a man was seen to act inappropriately towards women in Chatham.

On Sunday 20 September 2026 Kent Police received a report that a man had approached several women outside Chatham railway station, trying to engage in conversation. He was then seen to grab the hand of a woman and kiss it.

Following enquiries, officers located a man matching the description of the suspect in Ordnance Terrace.

The 35 year old Bulgarian national from Chatham was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
