A man has appeared in court charged with carrying out sexual offences in Tenterden.
Kent Police received reports of a man making inappropriate comments to children in the Ashford Road area of the town on Friday 3 and Monday 6 November 2023.
Following enquiries by the East Kent Vulnerability Investigation Team, a man was arrested in connection with the incidents on Tuesday 7 November.
Joseph Kemp has since been charged with two counts of attempting to engage in sexual activity in the presence of a child and two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
The 33-year-old, of Tenterden Road, Cranbrook, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Thursday 9 November and was remanded in custody to appear before Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 11 December.
An investigation into the incidents is ongoing and officers are urging anyone who saw anything suspicious in that area on those days, or on Thursday 2 November, to contact them.
